Description
A Yellow-billed teal (Anas flavirostris) enjoys a morning preen. It is a common duck on lakes, rivers and marshes in South America from Peru southwards, and is often found at high altitudes in the Andes. It and the very similar Andean teal (found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador) were formerly considered to be one species, the Speckled teal, before being reclassified.
