Dawn breaks over camp next to a pretty glacial lake, with the glaciers of Mt Huayna Potosi (6088m / 19,975ft) glowing with a rosy hue in the background. The peak (which is part of the Cordillera Real range) is one of the most popular climbs in Bolivia and by mountaineering standards a relatively non technical 6000m peak. The area also offers plenty of superb high altitude trekking and hiking routes.
