A detail of a painted ceramic shrine in a niche in a granite stone wall showing a scene from the Crucifixion and sinners in hell. It is quite common to see shrines and religious scenes such as this in walls of streets and houses in northern Portugal, and also neighbouring Galicia (maybe other parts of the Iberian Peninsula too.
