The chestnut-mandibled or Swainson's toucan (Ramphastos ambiguus swainsonii) is one of the largest toucan species. Males are 56cm / 22" long, females slightly smaller. They are relatively common in tropical forests in Central America from Honduras southwards to Colombia and Ecuador in South America. As of 2009 it has been considered a subspecies of the yellow-throated toucan (Ramphastos ambiguus).
