One of a series of images of the Milky Ways Galactic Center above the tiny ruined Capilla Rosario church and the partly abandoned Estancia Huincurata hamlet in Sajama National Park in western Bolivia. These villages were traditionally inhabited by Aymara family groups known as ayllus. Some are still occupied (sometimes only seasonally), others have been abandoned as people have moved to the cities in search of work (the same applies to many villages in rural Bolivia and South America). The peaks in the background are the Payachatas ("twin" in Aymara) volcanos on the Chilean border.
