The Milky Way's Galactic Center above Guallatiri village church in the far north of Chile. These quaint churches are typical of the high altiplano regions of northern Chile and western Bolivia. Guallatiri is a semi abandoned village near the Guallatiri volcano, the most active in northern Chile. The lighting is the result of some light painting with a torch; the lady who runs the basic hostal in the village also manages the generator that powers the street lights and was happy to turn it off for a few hours while the Milky Way was in the best position!
