Inka Kullis musicians play pinkillos / pinquillos (a traditional wooden flute common in Andean regions) at a festival on Taquile Island, which is in the Peruvian part of Lake Titicaca. Its inhabitants speak Quechua, are famous for their weaving skills, still wear traditional dress on a daily basis and strongly preserve their traditional way of life. Festivals are frequent and fascinating, colorful events! Taquile and its textile art traditions were originally declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005 and added to UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2008.
