The Virgen de la Candelaria de Chapi, or just Virgen de Chapi, is a form of the Virgin Mary particularly associated with the Arequipa area in southern Peru. The Chapi Sanctuary is located in an arid valley in the mountains approx 90km south east of Arequipa; devotees have been making pilgrimages there since the 18th century though the tradition probably dates from earlier.
