Description
A night view of Cusco's beautiful Plaza de Armas central square and the Compania de Jesus / Society of Jesus church. It was built by the Jesuits between 1576 and 1668 on the site of the palace of the Inca Huayna Capac, much of the church had to be rebuilt after an earthquake in 1650. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of the Spanish colonial baroque architecture in the Americas. The smaller colonial facade to the right is the entrance to the adjoining convent.
