Description
The Triple or Triplets Bridges (Puentes Trillizos in Spanish) are one of the newer landmarks in La Paz, Bolivia. The three bridges cross the valley the city is built in, are around 2,000m / 6,560ft long in total and were officially opened in 2010. In August, when Bolivia celebrates Independence Day, the bridges are illuminated with the colours of the national flag (red, green and yellow). The peak in the background is Mt Illimani (6439m / 21,125ft), Bolivia's second highest mountain and symbol of the city.
