Description
Houses sprawl up a steep hillside in a suburb of Bolivia's administrative capital La Paz, the peak is Mt Huayna Potosi (6088m / 19,975ft). A recent winter snowfall still lies on the plains of the high altiplano. Few cities are located in such challenging geographical terrain as La Paz. The centre is at an altitude around 3650m / 11,975 ft in a huge valley below the Andes mountains; there is an altitude difference of nearly 1000m / 3,300ft between the upper and lower parts of the city!
