Description
A barn advertising Mail Pouch Tobacco near Mt Airy in Frederick County, Maryland. Barn advertising was very popular in the first half of the 20th century and Mail Pouch Tobacco (produced by the West Virginia Mail Pouch chewing tobacco company based in Wheeling, West Virginia) one of the most widely advertised products. By the early 1960s there were approx 20,000 Mail Pouch barns spread across 22 states.
