Description
This picturesque red barn is not far from Cemetery Ridge / Hancock Avenue on the Gettysburg Battlefield site. Cemetery Ridge was part of the Union Army's main defensive line on days 2 and 3 of the battle. This image was taken close to the so called High Water Mark, the name given to the most advanced point reached by the Confederate Army. This happened during an infantry attack known as Pickett's Charge on day 3 of the battle.
