Description
A pepino mannequin sits on a rustic fence post next to a herd of llamas in Sajama National Park in the far west of Bolivia. The mountain in the background is the Pomerape (6282 m / 20,610ft) volcano, one of the Payachatas volcanos which lie on the Chilean border. Pepinos are a characters that are particularly associated with Carnival celebrations in La Paz, many people dress up in the costumes and masks for Carnival parades and celebrations. This poor old pepino dummy ended up having to work guarding llamas rather than going out and having fun with his mates......!
