Description
The Peruvian sheartail (Thaumastura cora) is found in Peru, Ecuador and northern Chile in the subtropical / tropical shrubland in the western foothills of the Andes and valleys that cross the coastal desert. Males measure 13 to 15 cm (5.1 to 5.9 in) in length, the long tail feathers are just over half the total length. The females don't have the long tail; the feathers in the males are often broken.
