Description
The Cheesewring is one of the most famous granite tors on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall in southwest England. Not far from Minions, it is a rock outcrop of granite slabs that has been shaped by weathering. It is said to resemble a "cheesewring", a press-like device that was once used to make cheese, hence the name. The rock faces below it are part of the Cheesewring Quarry, where granite was extracted for centuries but is now disused.
