Description
Detail of the trunk of the Pseudobombax septenatum tree, taken in Panama. It is also commonly called the Barrigon ("big belly") tree due to its bulging or swollen trunk, especially in the lower parts. It is found from Nicaragua south to Colombia and Venezuela and is closely related to the ceiba or kapok tree family.
