Description
A local fisherman drifts alongside a totora reed bed on Lake Titicaca at sunset. Lake Titicaca is said to be the world’s highest navigable lake and is also the 14th largest by volume. It is located 3810m / 12,500ft above sea level and is shared by Peru and Bolivia; the thin clear air at high altitude can make for beautiful sunsets. This image was taken on the Peruvian side of the lake; the lights of the town of Puno are just visible on the shore in the distance.
