Description
This unusual heart shaped formation was in dried out mud flats near the Colorado ("Red" in Spanish) River in Nor / North Lipez Province in south west Bolivia. These vast plains sometimes flood in the rainy season if there is enough rain, this depression must have taken longer to dry out. The whiter areas are salt deposits, the area is close to the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat.
