Description
A dirt road across the high altiplano after an overnight winter snowfall in Bolivia's Sajama National Park in the far west of the country soon after dawn, just as the clouds are starting to lift. These snowfalls during the winter dry season are the result of cold fronts and transform the altiplano grasslands into harsh yet strangely beautiful landscapes. Heavy falls can cut remote areas off for days or more and be a real hardship for the local people and their livestock, which struggle to find grazing under the snow.
