Description
The lovely little San Tomas / St Thomas church in Isluga village in Isluga National Park in the north of Chile near the border with Bolivia. Many similar quaint adobe (mud brick) churches dating from the 17th and 18th centuries can be found in villages in the high altiplano in both Chile and western Bolivia. Isluga itself is a "ceremonial" village; its inhabitants have all migrated to the cities on the coast in search of work and only return to the village to celebrate festivals.
