Description
The London Eye / Millennium Wheel catches the final red glow of the setting sun at sunset. Officially opened to the public on 9th March 2000, the Eye (also known as the Millennium Wheel) is now the most popular paid tourist attraction in the UK. The wheel has 32 capsules, each of which weighs 10 tonnes and holds up to 25 people. The whole structure is 443ft (135m) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 394ft (120m); a complete rotation takes around 30 minutes. The branches of the bare winter trees along the South Bank made for a beautiful contrast with the shape of the Wheel.
