Description
A motorcyclist checks his bearings during a crossing of the Salar de Uyuni in southwest Bolivia, the world's largest salt flat. It covers 10,582 square km / 4,086 square miles and lies at an altitude of 3656m / 12,000ft, making it a popular challenge for adventurers. The famous Dakar Rally has crossed it in recent years. The Salar often floods during the rainy season which turns it into a giant mirror reflecting the skies and making for surreal landscapes.
