Detail of a statue above an ornate granite stone fountain in Viana do Castelo in northern Portugal. The town was an important port in mediaeval times when it was the departure point for many Portuguese explorers. Wandering round old historic towns is always an enjoyable experience, Viana has plenty of interesting old doors, windows, and details such as this tucked away in its side streets!

Nice one James, you certainly cover a lot of ground! I have never been to Portugal.... maybe when this Covid thing dies down though!

Portugal's well worth a visit if you ever get the chance Alex. I've only been to the far north on shortish family visits so far, plenty more I'd like to explore one day....!
