Description
Star trails above rusting steam trains in the Uyuni train cemetery / graveyard in southwest Bolivia under the light of a full moon. Uyuni was founded in 1890 as a railway junction and used to be a major railroad centre in its heyday. Those days have long since passed though trains still pass through. The steam trains started to be replaced by diesels in 1958, just outside the village dozens of steam engines coaches and wagons lie rusting in the old railway yards as a reminder of days gone by. This image was made by stacking a series of long exposure shots; there is some light cloud lit by the moonlight on the left side of the image.
