Portraits of a white alpaca (Vicugna pacos, L, with pale eye) and llama (Lama glama, R, with laid back ears), South America's 2 domestic camelids and closely related to camels. They are common throughout the Andes, in high altitude regions where agriculture is difficult camelids are often the mainstay of the rural economy. Their cute little faces are wonderful company when you wake up with your morning tea or coffee!

What lovely captures, James!! I just adore alpacas, and wish I could buy some of the luxurious yarn made from their beautiful white coats to make sweaters and scarves... they would be SO SOFT!!!

Thank you Nancy! Alpacas are great models, I'm sure you could find wool somewhere in the USA, maybe specialist importers?
