Description
The Quisi Quisini volcano is reflected in Lake Chungara on a stormy afternoon in the spectacular Lauca National Park in the far north of Chile. The Park is also part of the Lauca Biosphere Reserve, recognised by UNESCO in 1981. Quisi Quisini (often written K'isi K'isini) is a 5,536m / 18,163 ft high extinct volcano on the Bolivia border; the dramatic lighting and dark storm clouds really highlighted the colors of its rock formations. Lake Chungara (4,517m / 14,820ft) is one of the highest lakes in South America, covering approx 21.5 square km / 8.3 sq miles.
