Description
Tonbridge Castle's twin towered gatehouse is one of the finest of its kind in England and was completed in 1260. The neighbouring mansion was added in the 1790s. The remains of an old motte and bailey fort also stands on the site (out of left side of this shot), which is next to a long important crossing on the River Medway.
