Description
A blue and white wooden rowing boat moored next to a reed bed and water channel in the Uros Floating Islands in Lake Titicaca, Peru. Some of the typical thatched-roof huts of the islands are visible in the background under a cloudy sky. The islands, which are not far from the port of Puno, belong to the indigenous Uros or Uru people and are one of Peru's best known tourist attractions. The islands and houses are made from totora reeds (Schoenoplectus californicus subsp. tatora) which grow in huge numbers in the shallower parts of the lake.
