Description
Pale yellow kantuta flowers (often written qantuta, Cantua buxifolia) on the shore of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia. Moon Island / Isla de la Luna can de seen in the distance. The kantuta is a beautiful and distinctive flower that is widespread at high altitudes in both Bolivia and Peru. There are several colour varieties; red is the most common, this pale yellow variety is also quite widespread. The flowers features in various Inca legends and is also a common subject in poetry and literature.
