Description
Looking up in European / common beech tree woodland in Whortleberry Wood in southeast England on a sunny winter's day. Whortleberry Wood is noted for its stands of ancient beeches (Fagus sylvatica) and is part of Southborough Common, an area of varied deciduous woodland in the High Weald near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. The pale bark and trunks looks wonderful against the blue sky when the low winter sun shines sideways into the forests.
